Math in the NewsUS Team Wins Romanian Master of Mathematics CompetitionTeam USA took top honors at the sixth Romanian Master of Mathematics competition, which took place in Bucharest February 27 through March 3. High school students from a dozen countries competed, including six from the United States. Mark Selke, David Stoner, James Tao, and Andre Arslan received gold medals; Darryl Wu took home a silver; and Danielle Wang got an honorable mention. The United States won the team trophy, with Russia placing second and the United Kingdom third. Razvan Gelca of Texas Tech University in Lubbock served as team leader for the United States, with Zuming Feng of Phillips Exeter Academy as deputy leader.
