Marcus du Sautoy to Host Pi Day Live

On March 14, 2013, Marcus du Sautoy, Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science (and a Professor of Mathematics) at the University of Oxford will host Pi Day Live, an opportunity for enthusiasts worldwide to use a combination of pre-computer approximation methods and crowd-sourcing to approximate pi.

In an introductory video, du Sautoy stresses that you "don't have to be a maths expert to take part" in the event.

Help du Sautoy answer the question "Have we lost our ability to calculate pi without using a computer?" Learn how you can get involved.
