Towson Hosts Bridges Conference on Math and Art

Towson University will host the annual Bridges Conference on July 25-29 at the University’s Center for the Arts in Towson, Maryland. The conference is the largest mathematics and art interdisciplinary conference in the world.

This year’s conference will feature presentations of full and short papers, hands-on workshops, invited talks, a refereed art exhibition, a math/art short movie festival, a theatre night, a music night, a math/art excursion, and a family day. More information is available at the 2012 Bridges Conference official website.

This is the second time Towson University has hosted the conference, which was established at Southwestern University in 1998. Reza Sarhangi, professor of mathematics at Towson, is currently serving as the president of the Bridges Corporation Board of Directors.
