"From the resource page:
"JAVA applet that demonstrates vector field flow along a surface and its boundary. Offers interpretation of the line integral part of Stoke's Theorem as the tendency to flow along the boundary curve, and the surface integral part of Stoke's Theorem as the rotational tendency on the surface itself."
It took me many tries until I got the applet to run (installed jre 6, waited, tried Opera, IE, firefox). But eventually it did run.
The user enters formula for a vector field in 3D, a surface and a boundary curve, and may adjust several papameters using sliders. The applet dynamically displays flows on the surface --- which, admittedly, I did not completely understand (e.g. where is the curl?) -- but it was almost 1:30 when the applet finally ran. I am looking forward to talking to Elisha."
