Vector Calculus Activities - Visualizing Electric Flux   COURSE_COMMUNITIES_MAPLE_ID

Course Topic(s): Multivariable Calculus | Double Integrals: Applications | Vector Fields and Flowlines | Line Integrals | Parametric Surfaces | Divergence and Curl | Surface Integrals | Stokes' Theorems, Vector Potential

This is a nice project on a physics application of flux integrals. Students compute the flux integral through a cube of the electric field of a point charge located (1) at the center of the cube, (2) anywhere inside the cube, (3) on a face of the cube, (4) on an edge of the cube and (5) at a vertex of the cube. Although a Maple worksheet for (1) is provided, any other computer algebra system could be used.
