Geometric Series

Course Topic(s): One-Variable Calculus | Infinite Limits, Sequences and Series

This maplet provides guided practice in the mechanics of geometric series, including determining if they converge and finding their sum when they do (with feedback and hints). Click on the New Series button and a new geometric series is given. The user is asked for the first term of the series, the ratio or consecutive terms, and for the sum of the series if it converges. The user must indicate if the sum does not exist. Note that this maplet is free and can be run with Maple or without Maple (from a remote server).
