This maplet provides guided practice in the mechanics of working related rates problems (with feedback and hints). Click on the New Problem button and an equation relating $$x$$ and $$y$$ is given. The user is then asked to differentiate this equation with respect to $$t$$. The user can check their answer and then proceed to simplify the equation and evaluate for $$\frac{dx}{dt}$$, given values for $$x$$, $$y$$, and $$\frac {dy}{dt}$$. Note that this maplet is free and can be run with Maple or without Maple (from a remote server).
