Coupon Collector Problem - Introduction and Interactive Resource   COURSE_COMMUNITIES_FLASH_ID

Course Topic(s): Probability | Famous Problems, coupon collecting | Discrete Distributions, geometric and negative binomial | Combinatorics

Discussion of the problem with links to interactive experiment. The experiment consists of sampling with replacement from a population of size \(m\) varies from 2 to 50, until \(k\) (1 to 26) distinct values are obtained. Data are collected on the counts for each population value and the number of samples required until all coupons to be collected. Along with the empirical data, the theoretical distribution is given.
