# Conditional Probability Applet

Course Topic(s): Probability | Basic Probability, conditional probability | Basic Probability, basic rules

This applet shows two events $$A$$ and $$B$$ as squares within a larger square that represents the sample space. The user can drag events $$A$$ and $$B$$ around, and the applet displays the probabilities of $$A$$, $$B$$, $$A$$ and $$B$$, $$A$$ or $$B$$, not $$A$$, not $$B$$, not ($$A$$ and $$B$$), not ($$A$$ or $$B$$), In addition, the user can select any of these events with a set of radio buttons and see the selected event highlighted in the Venn diagram. Finally, the conditional probability of $$A$$ given $$B$$ and $$B$$ given $$A$$ are displayed. The underlying probability measure is the uniform distribution on the sample space, although this is not explicitly stated.
