First-Order Linear Equations   COURSE_COMMUNITIES_JAVASCRIPT_ID

Course Topic(s): Ordinary Differential Equations | Analytic Methods

This webpage displays fully-worked examples showing the solution of an initial value problem for a first-order linear ODE. The method employed is the traditional method of finding an integrating factor using a formula. The rest of the solution is done without the use of explicit formulas. This is part of Andrew Bennett's online text "Elementary Differential Equations" (http://www.math.ksu.edu/math240/book/index.html).
