1846 Magnus Gustaf Mittag-Leffler born in Stockholm, Sweden. After studying with Weierstrass in Berlin and then teaching in Helsinki, Finland, for five years, he returned home to Stockholm, where he founded and ran the international journal Acta Mathematica.
