Abstract

Some poems have interesting connections to mathematics--because they contain mathematical imagery or because mathematical ideas influence the structure of the poem (its shape, the lengths of its lines and stanzas, its patterns of rhythm and rhyme). This article explores these connections through a variety of links and examples.

Technologies Used in This Article

This article uses standard HTML and images in JPG and PNG format. Several poems are given in audio form in addition to text. The audio files are in WAV format. You will need a helper application such as Windows Media Player or QuickTime to hear these files.
