Planar Graph Applets

Have you every wished you could take a picture of a graph on paper of a chalkboard and dynamically move the nodes around to investigate whether it is a planar graph? This applet is a simple tool that provides precisely this functionality.

  1. Sample exploratory activity
  2. Actual exercises from Ensley & Crawley's, Introduction to Discrete Mathematics (to appear in 2005 from John Wiley & Sons)
  3. Draw your own graph to explore

If you would like to put your own customized exercises like those in (1) and (2) on your website, see my "Planar Graphs" article in the OSSLETS portion of MathDL.
